Greatest Military in the World

America does have the greatest, strongest, and most loyal military in the world. No one can dispute that fact. Here again our military is called to help in Haiti. But the assests there are being hindered by political crap. Haiti's government is basically dissolved. It is in truley bad shape and was in bad shape before the tragic earthquake. We take over countries and force democracy on the citizens of that country that may or may not want it, but we cannot feed small kids in Haiti. We take over mountaintops in foriegn countries and mount overwhelming forces to fight an enemy that is dug in to a hillside that is almost impassable. But we cannot fly a chopper 15 miles from the earthquake to feed babies. No it is not our military that is the failure. It is the political crap that allows our military to again sit on their hands and watch as people suffer and die. When is this going to end. Since we are so good at taking over coutries, Haiti is one we should take over from the non-functioning government and restore order and get the humanitarian efforts going. We have the Carl Vincent naval carrier located 10 miles off of the coast of Haiti with a medical staff of 52 people. They have no patients because they are not allowed to go get people in need but have to wait for word from the ground. We do not want to upset any country that might fear that we are going to permently take over another country, so we just let children die from starvation. We could do both. One part could help rebuild the government of Haiti with the help of any other country that wants a challenge and take over the situation on the ground. And of course when this tragedy is over then we can let the government of Haiti take over, hopefully in better shape than it was before the earthquake. But our politicians fear how it will look to other countries, and God knows that our status in the world and the way that others look at us is more important than human lives. I say grab General Russel Honore out of retirement and put him in charge of the disaster of Haiti. He performed great during Katrina and showed that he can get the job done. With the thinking of waiting for the people on the ground to send or ask our military for help, what will happen when the hospitol ship arrives? Will they anchor along side the Carl Vincent and sit idle or will they be allowed to start treating people in need? I watch the CNN medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta who is a surgeon and has operated on our soldiers in the fields of battle, look like a whipped puppy. He was treating children without gloves and protective gear in a country that has a terrible AIDS problem with no fear for himself. I really want to hear what he has to say when this is all over with. He had disappointment tatooed all over his face during some of his interviews. The reporters from CNN and Fox News seem to find more people than the rescurers have. But we are limited in information due to the reporting of these two organizations. All I can say is that there is too much suffering of the innocent while we play the political game. Let our military go in and take care of the mission of taking care of people and restoring order, and then we can deal with the problems from that later. Who knows. It might make a difference at the voting booth. We all know that is the priority of our government at this time in history. I am not one that likes to strut our power on other countries but sometimes it is necessary. Each hour we stall and play the political game people die. Each day people are starving and thier anger grows, we soon will have a violent situation that will end with even a greater loss of life, and some may be our citizens there helping. The strange thing about our government's thinking is that the people and countries that we are trying not to upset, are countries that don't care. They want to kill us anyway.
